Martin Aagaard Jensen
Full-Time Instructor
I received a doctorate in Comparative Literature from The Graduate Center at the City University of New York, with certifications in American studies and critical theory, in September 2023. My research examines multiethnic North American literature, which I interpret in relation to critical theory, attending in particular to topics such as gender, race and class. I approach American studies from a materialist perspective, through the lens of Marxist historiographies of racial capitalism.
My book manuscript, Genres of Labor: Wageless Work and the Aesthetics of Stagnation, explores what I call the "aesthetic" dimension of labor in fiction.
